The Perils of Childhood series currently consists of 5 vintage albums of collaged altered postcards, totalling well over 150 cards. They are all made using illustrations cut from just one 1950’s children’s dictionary title and old sepia topographical postcards of Dorset.

I have taken seemingly innocent and idealised images and subverted them into something darker. To me, children’s books from this era often portrayed a world that was never a reality and concealed so much that was never spoken about.
